05 Jul What am I doing here?
So… I’m a cook by profession and a snacker by heart. Food is awesome and has become an inseparable part of my life in the past few years, hence, the creation of this website. This is going to be my little kitchen island on the Internet.
Happy to have you join me!
The reason why I got into cooking in the first place was curiosity. In the realm of culinary arts, there exists a fascinating duality. On one side, we have the scientific process, which can be quite strict and rigid but provides a sense of security. When you make a habit of a specific technique, you can rely on it to work consistently. On the other side, there is the liberating freedom to unleash your creativity, conceptualize unique flavor and texture combinations, and create visually appealing presentations.
Best of both worlds!
But food has a spiritual side as well. While every culture has its own culinary traditions, there is a universal element that binds us all together: the act of sharing a meal. In combination with human connection, food transcends the mere sustenance of life, becoming a profoundly beautiful experience. And when different cultures come together, connect and exchange ideas – that’s fusion!
I firmly believe in the power of shared meals and laughs. So expect to find not only portfolio pieces on this website but also anecdotes, culinary musings, and perhaps even a few food-related jokes to brighten your day.
Now, let’s be honest here. Not every culinary experiment turns out picture-perfect. You might occasionally get a glimpse of burnt meals, split sauces and other kitchen nightmares, what I would like to offer as a side is some advice on how to work through those mistakes. As a wise meme once said: Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.
So, grab your aprons, loosen your belts, and sharpen your tools!
And now, for a little joke to tickle your taste buds:
What did one plate say to the other plate?
Dinner is on me!
Stay hungry, my friends!
Yuli
